Our Story
Mindy and Michael met shortly after Michael moved to San Francisco on February 29th, 2020. Michael was immediately drawn to Mindy’s warmth and inviting energy; Mindy was impressed by Michael’s knowledge of Puerto Rican cuisine.
Mindy and Michael spent the early days of their relationship video-chatting and watching movies together over the phone, and they quickly bonded over their shared love of the hiking and the outdoors. They went camping and backpacking up and down the coast of California in Mindy’s trusty white Honda Civic. Mindy eventually got used to Michael always hiking 20ft ahead of her.
As one of the first exercises when they started dating, Mindy and Michael went through their favorite restaurant menus together. They quickly found that they loved sharing meals together. Mindy could try more dishes while having someone around to make sure they were finished!
This exercise expanded into their travels — Mindy and Michael soon traveled across Europe, Asia, and South America together, tasting the best foods they could find.
In July 2022 after Mindy graduated from her residency, Mindy and Michael traveled to Lisbon and fell in love with the city, its food, and architecture. Little did they know that almost three years later they would be back there to celebrate once more.
Back home in the Bay Area, Mindy and Michael loved to explore San Francisco and all of its unique neighborhoods together. Their weekends are often filled with bike rides around the city, walks and picnics in parks with Jasmine, and checking out new restaurants.
Mindy introduced Michael to their favorite San Francisco neighborhood, Potrero Hill. They settled there, bought a home, and adopted their dog Jasmine. Michael embraced his inner-grandpa and stays in and heads to bed early. Mindy still hopes that one day her and all her friends to can share the same Potrero cul-de-sac.
Michael realized that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Mindy. He decided to propose to Mindy in while on their trip to Turkey. Michael cried and Mindy said yes!
